OFFICIAL AEG DIGITAL MEDIA PRESS RELEASE

AEG Digital Media to Offer Powerful Social Media Tools for Enhanced On-Line Viewing and Live Event Interaction

Message aggregator and Facebook application to provide unparalleled interaction with live events

May 11, 2010 – LOS ANGELES, CA AEG Digital Media, the leading provider of complete webcast management, production and media services for live streaming events and on-line video, announced today the release of powerful social media tools designed to enhance viewer interaction and experience of live events through Facebook and Twitter.

Turning spectators into participants
A robust message aggregator called The Hawk, is a one of a kind, powerful, cross-platform application capable of combining messages about a live event via Twitter, text message, and web submission into a common web management interface that can be hosted along with the streaming video player, designed to bring the audience together and create a community experience around a live event. This interface lets webcast administrators label messages and chose to reject them, or send them to webcast viewers based on their content standard policies. This message distribution platform also has the distinctive feature of being able to feed content to in-venue LED ticker signs. The Hawk allows those in attendance at the event and those watching online to become fully engaged participants and not just spectators. Some key features include:

  • Messaging – Participants can submit comments through Twitter, text message, and a web submission form
  • Administration – Organization, approval or rejection, and automation of incoming messages are easily handled within the application, and ensure relevant content is posted
  • Distribution – Messages are displayed as they are approved on the interface and through digital signage at the event or other public spaces, and text for use in live event telecasts

“The Hawk from AEG Digital Media is the perfect way to turn spectators of your live event into participants,” said Ben Rolling, vice president of development for AEG Digital Media. “With this application, “tweets”, text messages, and messages submitted through the web about a live event are combined in one easy to follow location, providing an immersive experience for those at the event, and those following it online, building a broader audience.”

AEG Digital Media also announced today a Facebook application. This application consists of a custom tab located on the client’s Facebook fan page that features a video player that can live-stream events or play pre-recorded video. Custom applets can also be added to the video page including quizzes, polls, gifts, and RSS feeds designed to make the user experience more engaging. These applets allow fans to participate in the event and publicize it on their walls, increasing exposure.
